Join the Commissioners’ Circle
We invite you to join a commissioning circle of individuals from around the world, to create an unprecedented work of art. Your or your family’s legacy will be connected to this work in perpetuity.
This project emphasizes the healing power of art and the deep connection with the spiritual from a humanistic perspective. Without art, society loses its coherence. Music has the power to bond all who can experience it and to connect humans in spirit.
WHAT
Conceived as a multi-year and multi-lingual music magnum opus, the intent of a single composer to create music for all 150 Psalms – an unparalleled feat in history – is to embark on a deeply personal spiritual and creative journey of sharing. It intends to bring to life a 21s century artwork that embodies the continuity of the human condition from today to the 3000-year-old manuscript containing all universal human themes. The Book of Psalms is a collection of poetry with 150 chapters divided into five sections. The Hebrew title of this book means “songs of praise.” The entire collection is thought to have been compiled over a period of a thousand years.
Book 1: God beside us (1-41)
Book 2: God before us (42-72)
Book 3: God around us (73-89)
Book 4: God above us (90-106)
Book 5: God among us (107-150)
WHY
This project emphasizes the healing power of Art and the deep connection with the spiritual from a humanistic perspective. Without Art, society loses its coherence. Music has the power to bond all who can hear it and to connect humans in spirit.
